Moscato d'Asti

Moscato Cascina Fasciotti.
Moscato d'Asti is the best known product of the hills facing the Belbo Valley.

Calosso, particularly, boasts a production whose excellence was recognized as early as 1600.
On the steep slopes of its hills (called "surì" from their southern exposure), direct sunbeams grant an optimal ripening, while the dry and calcareous soil boosts the delicacy of flavours. The result is a pleasant and elegant wine, whose sweetness, coupled with fresh notes, never annoys amateurs as well as connoisseurs.
Our vineyards, south or south-west exposed at the hill top, give a product at the highest quality level.

Most of our production goes to the Fontanafredda winery and is transformed into Asti Spumante. A small part is made as Moscato d'Asti and sold directly at our farm.

Moscato vineyard at spring

There the vines get sunlight
all day long, and the land's all lime: a man can see in the dark.
Things don't go to the leaves up there, all the strength goes into the grape.
